Seriously????? Are people really panicking about gas? The hurricane is ONLY shutting down ABOUT 20% of our production facilities. Really people, you all need to step back and assess the situation. Nobody should be rushing out and buying gas JUST BECAUSE. If you don't need gas, don't fill up. This storm isn't going to last forever. By next week, the places that refine the gas will be back on-line, the oil rigs off shore will be staffed again, and YOU IDIOTS WILL HAVE SCREWED THE COUNTRY AGAIN! Gas isn't in as much demand as it was 6 months ago. Why do you think that it was at $100 on Wednesday?!
If you idiots wouldn't panic at the thought of refineries shutting down, we wouldn't run into shortages. All I'm saying is, think about what you do before you do it. Don't call your Aunt in Raleigh, or Winston-Salem telling them that gas prices are going up. If you do, YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM. STOP AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING BEFORE YOU DO IT. Don't hand over your paycheck to the "gas companies". Keep it in your pocket, and wait it out. If there's a TRUE emergency, you won't be able to avoid knowing about it. It'll cut in on MTV, it'll be posted on EVERY website you visit. For every one's sake, think about what you are doing before you do it.
Economics works on a VERY basic principal. Supply vs. demand. Do you really think that the gas in the gas station's tank costs more today at 4 pm than it did at 9 am? It's THE SAME FREAKING GAS. Think about what you are doing BEFORE YOU DO IT!!!!!!
