I have several things to say about it, and I've said them all before, so prepare yourselves.
1. Health care in this country is all about the money. If the government was in charge, it would be "all about the people". The almighty dollar wouldn't dictate who was covered or not.
2. Drug companies make too much money. They should be considered non-profits.
3. I don't CARE if you are going to lose money. Ever heard of the Hippocratic oath? Ya know, the one doctors take, I think that EVERY person that works in the health care industry, down to the janitor in the hospital ER, should take it.
4. I'm fat, yet I pay AT LEAST 30% more than "you" do for health insurance. Know how many times I went to the doctor last year? TWICE! How many times did you go? Don't penalize people because they are a statistic. Not everyone is the same.
5. If there were a single payer system, WE'D ALL PAY THE SAME! Take the money out of medicine. It doesn't belong there.
Oh, and don't make "elective procedures" (i.e., in vitro, sex reassignment, breast reconstruction, etc. part of the single payer plan. Before you get mad, it'll save money for EVERYONE. If we're not paying $700-1500 a month for health insurance, you can afford to save for whatever "elective" procedure you want. I don't wanna pay for it. You won't pay for my "fatness", I don't want to pay for your infertility.)
Get mad, I want to hear a better start to getting medicine out of the hands of huge conglomerates, please let me know what you think.
