So, people have finally had enough. Apparently, the peasants are beginning the revolt. We are tired of working for slave wages, tired of fearing constantly that our jobs will be shipped elsewhere. Tired of working our asses off so that management and owners can make more money. Tired of having our weekly healthcare costs exceed the paltry raise we were given this year after waiting for 3 years for the raise. Tired of being afraid to call in sick, or take a vacation, or ask for a cost of living raise.
How can we, the masses, be expected to take it for much longer, when the owner of large corporation we work for, makes almost 500 times what we make as an hourly employee. What makes him so special? Is he really worth that much? The fact that our "company" has lost money for the last 8 quarters, and they are shutting down 100 stores, and laying off 2500 employees because we really need more unemployed people, gets him a 5% stock bonus. But...that's OK...he's the CEO. He's gotta make the tough decisions. He's got to figure out which stores to close. How to depress the people more. Since he's buddy buddy with the guy that runs the Wall St. Banks, they're both profiting off the closing stores. Everyone wins, right?
