I work in a grocery store, as a florist. I have almost 6 years experience doing this job, and they treat me like someone who doesn't know their hand from a hole in the ground. I have worked for this company for almost 4 months, I have never wanted to quit a job as badly as I want to quit this one. About 2 weeks ago, it was the 2nd anniversary of my daughter's death, they called me at home, to tell me the dept looked bad. I had a fit. Them to do whatever the heck they wanted, because I am not coming in. (I'd had a few drinks at this point). The next day I came in as scheduled, and was told that nobody knew that the dept looked bad, blah blah blah. They then asked what I did during each shift, hinting that I was wasting time. I told them flat out, to go ahead and cut my hours if they wanted to. I didn't care. Then they wanted me to spend an hour of each shift cutting fruit for produce. I can't stand going to this place everyday, and I hope that the store burns down. (not really, I'm just saying that cuz, I'm angry)
So, last weekend, I got to talking to one of the ladies that I work with, and we have decided that we are going into business together. The same guy that peveed me off so bad, did the same to her a couple days later. We've decided that we don't want to give our talents and time to a company that takes advantge of talented individuals by treating them like garbage. Yes we work in a grocery store, but we are freaking talented, and our talents aren't something that just anybody can do. You have to know how to arrange flowers. Anyone can put stuff in a vase, but not just anybody can make an arrangement in foam.
I've decided that my talents are being wasted on a bunch of rednecks who have no ideas of their own. I've got good ideas for displays, and they never like them at all. Oh well. I've done everything that they have asked of me, yet when I make something my own, they don't like it. Even if it increases sales. I don't care anymore. Forget them...keep my mind on the fack that in maybe a year, I won't have to listen to any of them anymore...
